Hi. My grandmother and grandfather emigrated to Prince Edward Island, Canada from Deirmimas in 1923 and 1924 respectively. Her name was Miriam Tooms, but that might have been the last name of her first husband. My grandfather's name was Assaf Mamy but I think immigration in Canada may have spelled it according to the way my grandfather pronounced it (I do not think that is an actual Lebanese name). If anyone knows who my grandparents were and want to contact me, that would be great. I do not know a lot about my Lebanese heritage and my grandparents passed away a long time ago and my father passed away a few years ago so I have no one to really ask now.

Hello everyone. I would just like to say that I am truly glad Deir Mimes has become a village known to many, thanks to respectful individuals that care to make it stand out. Hopefully this weekend is going to be great, where I can finally meet many others from DeirMimes. Great website.

Accomplishing my promise of writing in your guest book I want to thank you for being such a good host during last Sunday ceremony in the memory of our fallen soldiers. I have visited your website and I find it nice, modern and intuitive, full of lovely pictures of your beautiful village. Congratulations for your work as a web master.
Hope to see you soon.
